The Bridge Hotel, Richmond
Alleycat Creative provides street art consultancy to the Bridge Hotel, Richmond, co-ordinating a team of local Melbourne underground artists to create layers of interest and colour throughout the recently renovated space.
The Hotel contains a full Melbourne-esque open air cobblestone laneway running down the middle connecting several eclectic dining alcoves and quirky drinking nooks.
A group of street artists were present at the opening event installing their works on wall surfaces.
Alleycat is working with the Hotel in an on-going sense developing the street art throughout the venue, curating various street art ‘event’s / exhibitions.
Movember, Australia
Movember, now a global entity (created/founded in Melbourne 2003) were seeking to return to grass roots Melbourne for their 2010 campaign. It was decided a giant (15 meter) sculpture of a Moustache would be hidden in one of Melbournes CBD laneways.
Alleycat Creative assisted in profiling Melbourne’s laneways, finding the right position, gaining all permits and permissions then project managing the installation of the giant sculpture for the month of Movember.
QV Melbourne
Alleycat Creative worked with QV Melbourne to install a temporary street art piece to (a) add interest to a plain concrete wall (b) soften the space and (c) direct foot traffic to exhibition space located in the laneway. A local Melbourne cartoon artist created a paper paste-up piece featuring his detailed comic strip works.
